I know, I know...I've been away from feels like months instead of weeks...
My life has been literally turned on it's head, what with a huge family move, job interviews for new positions within the medical field in Australia (not all qualifications and certificates carry over in another country) getting my kids into new schools and getting a house and cars...
The list goes on and on and on again!
Well i have most of that list settled and finally Internet connection YAY!
So it only leaves me with only one thing...
my thoughts over the last few chaotic weeks for Rob and Kristen.
I like many have been delighted, charmed and indeed enthralled by all the wonderful moments between this loving couple, both on and off the red carpet in Cannes. They came and devoured the captive audience; Kristen rocked the red carpet TWICE in a plunging neckline dress for both 'On The Road' and bold in Red for Rob's 'Cosmopolis' screening.
My thoughts are pretty scattered right now, so bare with me but i found that seeing Rob turn up and support Kristen at a 'very important' screening of her movie - 'On The Road'. A movie that took 3 years to get funding and the green light to make it. A movie Kristen has been very passionate about being made. A movie that took her acting to a higher level and which she spent a good deal of her time 'getting under the skin' of Marylou - very profound indeed. But let's not forget how Kristen literally 'stole' the Red from the red carpet and smoldered like a 1950's siren, as she stood alongside Rob's best friend from schooldays and fellow actor and co star of Kristen's movie - Tom Sturridge, who also came out to support Rob for 'Cosmoplis'
I found that in both events and trust me, i am still looking over all the photos and boy are there many (big shout out to RobStenation and their wonderful collection that has made me grin like a shit eating Cheshire cat for days now!) The rawness of emotion in both of them as they watched and gauged the response of the audience, was very private and intimate. To say we have never seen them so emotionally in tune with one and other is an understatement. Okay, we can understand they are 'very private' about their personal lives; allowing little glimpses into who they are now and again. Both know they have a very large following of fans and a small narrow-minded following of haters and spitefully controlled jealous women. But let's not forget that their strongest alliance of faith and trust is each other. Kristen turned up in Cannes before Rob after a successful promotion and premiere of 'Snow White and the Huntsman' not to mention her boyfriend's birthday in the UK. He arrived a few days later and proceeded, much to the delight and dismay of opposing teams of haters and lovers alike, arrive on Kristen's screening red carpet, looking Fifty Shades of gorgeousness!! (giggling and snorting at my little Ice Queen segue there)
I know, forgive me for my little joke there, as much as i have heard nothing but '50 Shades and his sultry adventures' I have seen the book shops in Oz filled with the resplendent covers and of course anyone who is anyone is currently reading the dark and twisty world of Christian Grey...my hopes fade a little as to the constant comparison to the Edward and Bella fan fictional story and who would be best suited for the role (not a Gosling fan i would have to say and Somerhalder is just too darn pretty for the role) but yes essentially no one does a 'Grey-esque' look quite like Rob, as he stood amongst the bow tie/tuxedo dressed in a dark ensemble, looking pretty darn delicious. I have missed his cheeky little face and boy does he create a stir wherever he goes. For Kristen, this was a special time, a movie she was very proud but nervous about. A movie she had desperately campaigned to be made and finally it made it's debut and her significant other was there to lend his support 100% and to be dammed for the publicity of their relationship hanging over their heads. Anyone who is anyone and master the art of reading comprehension surely knows by now that they are together? It doesn't take rocket science to understand that 'no, Kristen is not or never has dated anyone in several years other than Rob'
I have heard the delusional bull shit floating about from morons, who believe Kristen would be with anyone other than Rob. but then again, these are the same sad little people who believe that Rob sleeps with anyone with a pulse, because they want him to act like a man whore to justify why he would then think of them as an easy challenge - yeah, easy being the operative word.
So we had the 'On The Road' screening with the cast assembled for the posing pretty for the paparazzi (i won't waste my time commenting on the whole 'middle fingers up' with the exception of 'walk in Kristen's shoes for a day and see how easy it is to always be smiling and cheerful All.The.Fucking.Time!) Tom, darling Tom, how i love you very much. Not only is he a good supporting actor in this wonderful Walter Salles tale...but he is also a very good friend of Kristen's and of course a long time friend of Rob's so he was there to lend a hand, a good shoulder to lean on and of course a welcome face to not get 'nervous fans' twitching as Kristen stood alongside him, smiling with giddy excitement.
I don't need to speak about the gown, for the gown speaks for itself. Lately, Kristen has come into her own, her own fashion sense, her own need to feel comfortable within her own skin and her own spin on what looks and does not look good on her. The fashion houses must be clapping their hands with glee, for nothing i feel looks bad on Kristen, everything she puts on just looks so much better. On the arm of a kooky but most definitely not dull Tom, Kristen looked relaxed and happy as she stood amongst her cast mates, possibly with a lot of bubbling excitement because she knew her boyfriend wasn't too far away :D
The after party photos may have been a little intrusive, after all it was a closed event, but paps will be paps...
Their unfazed commitment to each other has always been something that has rung out louder than anything else. The fact they have been able to maintain a ring of privacy around them, sends a clear message out to those who believe they are a 'publicity stunt' it also shows glaringly to those that live by the PR rule that this kind of love, this kind of commitment, is neither fake or paid for by studios earning money of their backs.
Personal and intimate, a moment caught and held and signalled loud and clear to those who have always questioned why they are together.
As for Rob's red carpet appearance...
Cosmopolis was always going to bring controversy to the Film Festival. The fact that not only it was another Cronenberg adaptation, but it had Rob in the main role, a role that saw him on the screen the entire length of the movie as his world collapses and his life makes an unexpected and somewhat 'eye popping' turn.
The event was very glamorous with so much style it was hard to look at all the photos without getting jealous, especially once Kristen turned up and boy did she not fail in her plunging blood red dress, looking very much the vamp that she is, the one who stole Rob's heart.
I absolutely adore this dress, it's both wicked and sinful and just the right amount of sexiness for Kristen to pull off, especially at such a high profile festival, in front of the couture French and many esteemed fellow actors. She looked breath-taking and simply every inch a woman as she stood and posed for the worlds press at her boyfriend's much anticipated movie. A movie that received 8 minutes of a standing ovation i might add.
Many photos captured the friendship between Tom and Kristen, for they are indeed firm friends and of course where there as Rob's support unit for the movie. But i feel the night belonged to Kristen and Rob and only them. No amount of schmoozing with the suits and standing worrying yourself sick over whether people will like your movie our not, but when your significant other is sitting in the audience, her fingers crossed and her eyes tightly shut, possibly praying to all who can hear her above, that people will like it...that right there is love!
All i can say is 'aww' and just smiling isn't enough to say about how much this speaks volumes. Of course Rob coming up to Kristen in the very end and being rewarded with a kiss from his girlfriend was very much the icing on the cake for me. How tender a touching moment that was caught and once again held in time for all of us to see.
This moment here surpassed even the hand holding on the stairs for me, for we know they have done this countless times, so seeing hand holding photos doesn't say anything other than 'oh once again' and for people to make a big deal out of it - really? But this tender moment here is worth every single almost 'hand hold' photograph there is, this for me shows not only pride but happiness and love. Love for his work being recognised, love for the man who worked his nuts off to make this movie worth it's standing ovation.
That for me defines Rob and Kristen right there, tenderness and mutual love and respect. No wonder she feels vindicated to clear the cobwebs of her past, make clear the understanding of their relationship and say a big FU to those who disagree with it.
