Good morning, if you have just stumbled across my blog and hate everything about;
a - Rob Pattinson
b - Kristen Stewart
c - Rob and Kristen
Then you have come to the wrong place. Back away now if you find any of the posts offensive and that way, you won't be pissed off when i insult you.
There...this little disclaimer should be posted in every blog that has the names Rob and or Kristen in them. That way, there would be no need for silly dumb fucks to post hate in comment boxes. Hello to the rest, i would assume you are of sound mind and enjoy the two people, who have steadily made their names in the industry, as both professional actors and very private people. Private until the stalkerazzi catch wind they are at some club or music venue, then the quiet solace that they had, is broken - briefly. But more about that later.
What i have noticed sadly, is the increasing amount of hate directed at book/movie fandoms. First there was Harry Potter; a very loyal fandom of all ages, who either read the books faithfully or watched the movies with equal admiration, while growing up with the Potter kids. Then came Twilight; a completely different level of fandom, more interested in the lives beyond the costume and make up with Pattinson obsessed women, who saw Edward Cullen as the second coming. You had Twilight Moms; a very strong hormonal bunch of women, who took pot shots at the Potter fandom as Stephenie Meyer's books where better than JK Rowling's. Because the romance didn't take 5 out of 7 books before it happened, but only 4 before Edward and Bella have sex.
Now it's the Hunger Games turn, and all of a sudden, one fandom is better than the other "The Hunger Games are better than Twilight and Twilight is better than Potter."
WTF!!!
It seems to be that one fandom can not coexist with the other gaining popularity. (a bit like Voldemort and Harry) So much so, that it's become a battle of supremacy, that even the media are getting involved in. Thus pitting one kind of book saga against the other. Hormonal teenagers and older women taking pot shots at each other, over blogs and message boards.
Excuse me as i roll my eyes at the ludicrous disbelief of it all.
Takes a deep breath...
I am all for book sagas. After all, some of the greatest movies have indeed been made from a book trilogy or two. But forgive me for not going all dramatic simply because a new series of movies; devised from a very well known action/sci-fiction fantasy book collection, has graced the theatres and has become stiff competition for the likes of Twilight, who is in it's final instalment. Of course you have the complete bull of 'what will twilight do now?' Ah not an awful lot, why should it?
Neither has the same fandom following. Sure the Hunger Games has an impressive cast of new and not so new to the movie scene actors, taking on some pretty intense roles. But THG and twilight - two completely different genres, which is why it does not make sense to bitch and whine at the other. I could maybe understand if THG had a similar story line of vamps and wolves, battling it out for a humans affections. But please, they're nothing like each other. Then you have the Potter fans weighing in; those who love the drama so much, they have to turn all 'Oh The Hunger Games is much better than pansy twilight, even with Robert who played Cedric playing the lead'
Each to their own corner of the world.
To those that feel so passionate about this kind of argument - get yourselves out more, okay?
I was a Potter fan years ago, purely for the books and not so much for the movies. So i can understand people's passions, i really can. But when it becomes more than a passing passion and focuses on the nasty seed of insults and slander. Posting messages up and invading people's twitter accounts with hate spam - enough is really stupidly enough.
If you don't like one type of book saga, fine that's your prerogative. But don't bitch at someone because they do. Don't make out one is better than the other. Or what's worse, all of this has become an almost stalking fandom; where people who had become obsessed with Robert Pattinson or originally Daniel Radcliffe, are now fixating on Liam Hemsworth or Josh Hutchenson (God help them both!)
The movie making world is big enough for all; each book series, each franchise, each movie - the whole lot. I would be worried if the authors who have invested in having their 'baby' turned into a movie, end up being morbidly embarrassed when their 'baby' that has had millions spent on it, become a flop. That doesn't usually bode well for the studio, who has put all that money into casting the actors and using a heck of a lot of special effects. Suddenly it's them, that are out of pocket because of this. Oh but that's where again, the argument arises - it's Summit Entertainment who is at the helm of The Hunger Games.
Yes, childish in it's argument; Summit sold The Twilight Saga to Lionsgate, so they could focus all their strength in making THG better than the vampire story. In other words, they sold Stephenie Meyer's creation down the proverbial River!
Well, in the immortal words of Bella Swan, "I am Team Switzerland" in other words, the little logo at the top of my post LOL. Enjoy the sagas and be grateful some really good book series are being made into movies, so that fans of the books or just discovering them, can enjoy the movies for what they are and not some twisted competition to see who faired better in the 'stud' wars. Can you do better?
We had rumours of Rob and Kristen attending a concert of their good friend Marcus Foster at the weekend. At first, it was to be taken as a grain of salt. After all, the weekends are generally when haters come out to play and post up fake sightings, just for shits and giggles. But then it became increasingly apparent that maybe there was more to this 'sighting' than meets the eye.
When more tweeted they saw the 'twilight couple' at LA's SoHo House; a popular drinking and eating place, where privacy is incredibly important and where Rob and Kristen have been able to relax and let their guard down, once they're inside. Of course with a sighting, you have the mumblings and grumblings of the lunatic fringe 'Oh here we go another PR stunt, considering Kristen was in Marcus Foster's video for his song and Rob needs full attention. Because a teaser of his movie Cosmopolis aired at the weekend and Kristen needs to promote her much failed attempt at playing Snow White. 'Lily Collins portrayal is in keeping with Disney's foresight of what the beautiful Princess looked like!'
Excuse me while i puke!
Both actresses play completely different Snow White's. While Lily is playing a more 'cartoon, animated fantasy version' of the Snow White tale; with loud and colourful costumes and even louder and colourful comedy attached to the movie 'Mirror, Mirror' Kristen's is in keeping with the faith of the Brother's Grimm scary-tale (that's the authors who wrote the story Snow White and not Walt Disney!) So forgive me for beating haters around the head with a blunt stick, but these are on the same level of haters, who are currently pitting the book genres against each other. As for Rob and needing attention because of Cosmopolis...
I have never known a more uninterested actor in getting much needed 'attention' for a movie, than Rob. He doesn't give a personal shit whether some of the less brainy fans/haters out there, believe he needs to go out there and separate his acting career from Edward and twilight. Or indeed Kristen. Yes, because it's Kristen according to those that are inhaling too much hot air, or something else less healthy, who is strangling his career and forcing him to put too much of his attention into 'their' private life. And not enough is being devoted to getting a job; signing onto another project and create some 'distance' between them.
Yeah because the longer he spends 'out of work' and enjoying his time with that 'girlfriend' of his, the more panicky they become - it means it's serious then?
No shit Sherlock!
Ah well...i have had my fun. Sometimes people just leave themselves wide open for it.
Decide for yourself what team you are on. If you are like me, who doesn't take life too seriously, doesn't invest so much of their life, bitching and whining just for the sake of 'oh my poor empty life, look at me, LOOK AT ME!' Has a real life outside the twilight fandom that is pretty full and who only drops in now and again to see how the rest of the world is rolling. Then join my team of who gives a shit. Life is too short to hate on a couple, just because they are together. GET over it, it's not your life and it never will be!
