Rob and Kristen - The Poisoned Chalice...

*takes a deep breath*

So, it seems the bullshit just gets louder and louder...
I must say i for one, am saddened at yet another marriage to be hit by the 'let's poke around in it and find out the real reason why it ended?' By the media and of course the nosey-assed fans. Who look upon the ending of a relationship, to be a bit like watching a car wreck <--- transfixed at the carnage and can't turn away.

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth announced this week that sadly, their 11 year marriage has come to an end. All of a sudden stupid people (so called journalists) decide to 'invent' stories about third party involvement, estranged long distance arguments and yes, even Jennie being jealous of the fame that 'twilight' brought Peter. Who up until a few years ago was a small-time actor; getting part-time work on movies or a few television series.

Nobody thought to consider that maybe this was just 'gossip' and not actual truth? No, because the stupid people in this fandom, believe absolutely everything that is printed by gossip blogs and magazines, as if it's 'The Holy Grail'
I suppose if you can't beat them - join them, right?

One thing to consider of course, is that the media needs to sell gossip. Hollywood is a cesspool of so called journalists; all eager to get their name known, their articles printed and people talking about them. They all want to be the next 'bitch in town' to be the throbbing pulse to everything and everyone who is 'celebrity' worth talking about. Marriages, relationships are all celeb fodder when it comes to being famous. They want to know who you are, what you do, who you are with, when you will get married and of course...they are already typing out 'their obituary' to your divorce statement, as soon as the ink is barely dry on your marriage licence.

Now some fans look at the gossip floating around and understand that 99% of it is made up rubbish. Generated by people who have absolutely nothing better to do than invent situations, affairs or bust ups - just for kicks. Rob and Kristen have dodged this 'seventh circle of hell' for years now. Each time the stories get more ludicrous and less inventive; Rob is always seen at a 'random bar with a mysterious blond companion' and Kristen is always seen out with her 'male co-stars just chilling' or at home unhappy, because her 'boyfriend is going off the deep end'
They have been plagued by the 'poisoned chalice' of gossip; dodging question after question about their private lives. So what do the haters do? Invent it instead. WHAT, you don't think the stories that usually fill the pages of trash mags, are not anonymously sent via email? Or made up by reading people's twitters, facebook and tumblr accounts? Come on, use your brain!

Half of the time, the gossip sites follow the fans around, read what is being written and retweeted. OR like good ole 'Drama Queen' himself - Ted Casablanca, allow the hate and vile putrid stench of contempt wash over him, as he gleams from his comment section on the 'Awful Truth' and then posts up his version of 'wacky reality' as an actual piece of journalistic integrity worth reading.

Peter and Jennie have had to release a statement, shooting down the rumours being spread to protect their family. I feel sorry and maddened at the same time, that people have to go to such lengths just to get the truth out, especially when children are involved. I suppose when you take on a job in the entertainment industry, you will always be the subject of gossip when 'good things go bad'
Solidarity on the Red Carpet...
One thing Kristen and Rob learnt fairly early on in 'twilight' and that was not to let the media influence their private lives. It's all well and good that a journalist befriends and treats you as 'special' but their job is to get the dirt on your private life. Lower your defences with words of encouragement and then before you know it, your words get twisted, confessions get made into public statements and pressure is then applied to a life you had always deemed not to be 'spoken about'

The 'Poisoned Chalice' is always something to be wary about; confide in people and watch them take you down when you slip up. I feel sorry for the fans who have to live their lives, one dramatic moment at a time. Those that simply can't sit back and allow others to get on with their own. What makes people email gossip sites such as E! Online and X-17; with made up stories so that they can be passed onto the likes of the 'Star or Life & Style' or as i like to call it 'lies & shite' as believable headlines? The cost to the victims of gossip is sometimes weighed out when it 'hurts' the loved ones in the middle of it all - in Peter and Jennie's case - their children. It doesn't matter if there is truth in any of the rumours that float around Hollywood - discretion and respect should still be applied.

Haters find comfort in trying to make 'real' that Kristen and Rob are not what they seem. They can't fathom the idea that maybe, just maybe they are simply a couple, trying to be normal in a crazy mixed up world. That the reason they keep everything very private is because they want to own it. And owning it means they won't let anyone sell it, not even themselves. You see so many relationships end that way; once you confess your 'undying love' to someone like Piers Morgan; an ex-pat from the UK and one who has possibly seen a lot of marriages end as soon as he interviews them. More recently Russell Brand and Katy Perry's.

For what it's worth, i would be very surprised if 'smarmy' Piers would ever get Rob or Kristen on his show. Both are against being probed by any journalist about their private lives, especially someone who is a ex-editor of one of the 'trashiest' newspapers in the UK.
Our lips are sealed...
That's the frustrating situation haters find themselves in - the lack of actual concrete evidence to back up their lack of brain cell theories. Their beliefs are no more ludicrous than the reporters who post them. Oh that's right, because journalistic investigation goes right out the window, when you land a job on a trash mag and would rather 'Rob's fans' tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the lie that they disguise as the truth.
Haters - speaking the 'truth' since 2009...
The best way to view life is simply to 'live your own' and stop worrying about what other people are doing in theirs. Stop reading the gossip in supermarket mags; chances are it is put there to sell a little bit of excitement - to make you feel your world is not so bad.

Celebrity gossip was invented to allow you a bit of escapism; the voyeuristic delight in knowing how the other half live. But it's no better than standing on the wall in your back yard with binoculars, watching your neighbours house and seeing everything they do - would you like that done to you? I call the media; entertainment shows and magazines, celebrity gossip sites, photographers and journalists - the Poisoned Chalice, because it is often perceived as 'friendly' at first, comforting even. People see it as a way of getting to know the 'truth' when in fact at times, it is nothing but falsehoods and lies.

Celebrities often get the same impression by those who hand over the chalice in the form of friendship. Befriend the person you are interested in; get them on your side, telling them you only want to get the 'truth' out there. But as soon as something goes wrong and they want their personal life to become private - the chalice is laced with poison and the hand of friendship is seen for what it really is.

This is the very reason Rob and Kristen trust only the 'circle of friends' who will never divulge anything about them. Journalists; as much as they claim to be 'best buddies' with either actor; chatting to the fans on facebook and twitter - are only doing it to get information. As nice as they may be, it's a job and it's a job that can pay well if they get what they are after - gossip.

Have a lovely weekend, don't listen to idle gossip and for the wonderful Mums in the UK - Happy Mother's Day!
