Rob and Kristen - Their Breaking Dawn...

Rob and Kristen as Edward and Bella...
I thought my Duroy or DuRob post would do it for the weekend, and then the sappiness of the release of Breaking Dawn - part 1 in the US and other countries, made me change my mind.
The wedding of the century everyone is talking about and i don't mean the Royal Wedding between HRH Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Or the failed attempt of glory from a Kardashian. Neither the 'look at me' wedding from a fellow cast mate (come on you knew i was going to mention that!) I'm talking about the loved up marriage between Edward Anthony Masen Cullen and one, Miss Isabella Marie Swan. Three years and four movies later - and the star crossed lovers; the mortal and the vampire, the two teenage virgins (yes they made it to the altar in time) the quintessential meaning for donning a hat, getting a dress and shoes to match, has finally been released into the unsuspecting or salivating populous (whomever you may be)
I now pronounce you - Husband and Wife...
With Bella's wedding dress a much kept secret. Months in planning for the exact vision Stephenie Meyer had in mind and to much dismay from fans hoping it wasn't going to end up like some blancmange effect to match the hideous Eclipse engagement ring. The final reveal was to everyone's liking - well, mine anyway. I loved it, it was simple and elegant and suited the petite frame of Kristen as she glided down the flowerbed aisle towards Edward. Who, himself looked absolutely dashing in his 19th century wedding attire (not dissimilar to the suit that is worn by the scoundrel he plays in Bel Ami lol)

The movie had a lot of expectations to live up to, including a honeymoon worth girls drooling over (tongue in cheek) some thought Summit had lead them up the garden path by cutting out a lot of the 'sex scenes' but for me personally come on it's not soft porn it's a teenage movie and with that it had to have it's PG-13 rating.
Alone at last...in Brazil...
We wanted the romance, the candlelight (there were candles?) and the breaking of a headboard, to successfully drown our appetites. We wanted morning after angst; Edward being all moody because he was a bit rough with Bella - Bella on the other hand, loving every minute of it - you go girl! And of course we wanted make up sex followed by the impending doom of a pregnancy, to really kill the honeymoon mood. For me it met my expectations the first, second and third time around. I saw all i personally needed to see, i am not a greedy person by nature and sorry but naked men are just naked men. When you have seen one you have seen them all (again, tongue in cheek) less is more as far as i am concerned, i was more into the story and less into how many times you saw a shirtless Rob.
Just before a pregnancy test ruins everything...
But most importantly - fans wanted to see finally the actors playing the leads, really sink their teeth (pun intended) into finally being able to act like a 'normal couple' Over the course of the previous three movies; Edward has been keeping his ever 'desirable' distance from his red blooded, hormonal girlfriend. I'm not surprised that when it finally came for them to be 'together, together' (lovingly said by Jessica Stanley in Twilight) he broke the headboard in such a devastating show of pent up virginal, vampire frustration LOL. He was after all changed at the edge of 17 himself, A LOT of needy years built up there in that Adonis looking bod of his.

So as fans (those lucky enough to be in the countries distributing the movie) i have to wait a further month (UK) until i get mine...today is going to be officially known as #Breaking Dawn Day. A day when fans snuggle up to the one they love. Or simply stick it on, lock the kids and anyone else out of the room and watch the movie several times over, with BTS on constant loop and the blooper reel (every day for Rob seems to be a blooper day) to laugh at.
Beautifully in love...
Rob and Kristen for me, made a wedding worth waiting for. They looked fantastic as Edward and Bella of course, but it was the tender moments you could see between them, that really stole the whole movie. Forget about the quirky love between Alice and Jasper, or the teddy bear love between Rosalie and Emmett. Even the deep mutual respectful love between Esme and Carlisle does not feature in all of this. Rob as Edward really showed just how much he had been looking forward to this moment. The vows although chopped and put together - were done in such a way, you held your breath and fantastically thought you were watching a real wedding. The kiss in the end all but did it for me LOL a tear was shed and i have to admit, my cold dead heart even pulsed a bit.
Deep sigh...
No more words need to be said. To all those watching it right now - enjoy their 'Breaking Dawn' day.
